Urban Ecology Workshop
Urban Ecology Workshop
On January 11, the Amsterdam local coalition invited policy makers and stakeholders to a work session to find overlaps between the policy and the practice of bottom-up urban greening at the Amsterdam Science Park. During the session, the participants identified policy goals and highlighted the lessons learned from the different interventions during the Amsterdam pilot. The final part of the event was aimed at discussing where overlap can be found to concretise next steps in order to foster biodiversity strategies.

Through temporary interventions and a landscape festival, Waag Futurelab has experimented with bottom-up DIT ecopractices and greening at Amsterdam Science Park, together with local residents, artists and experts. From this several opportunities arise to bring together policy goals and local initiatives at Amsterdam Science Park as well as citywide. These are described in the memo (in Dutch), and fit in with the broader policy recommendations in the T-Factor White Paper. For more information, you can reach out to urbanecology@waag.org
